For sometime now there has been varying reports about the toxicity of some cosmetics. There have been claims many cosmetics contain chemicals that have not been assessed for safety. Some studies have claimed certain cosmetics contain probable carcinogens or reproductive toxins. Everyday people apply lipstick, foundation and eye shadow not knowing the safety of these products.
So, is wearing make-up a health hazard and should we believe that some of the ingredients contained in cosmetics may be linked to cancer and reproductive problems? Well my answer is wherever possible we should always err on the side of caution. If we have alternatives why not choose the safer alternatives.
Years ago, I wrote an article about the safety concerns regarding drinking from plastic water bottles. Once again when we have safer alternatives, why would we choose to drink from plastic. The same goes for cosmetics.
Luckily these days there are quite a few genuine natural cosmetic ranges on the market. We have stocked several cosmetic ranges over the years. Last year after much research we introduced another cosmetic range which has proved extremely popular with our customers. INIKA Organic is an Australian-owned certified organic beauty brand. It is a high quality brand with 100% natural products, certified vegan and cruelty free.
Because these cosmetics are so gentle, INIKA feels quite light on your skin. With their progressive and innovative botanical formulations, it is designed to hydrate and support healthy skin. Some of these botanicals include organic aloe vera, organic calendula, organic tamanu, organic Kakadu plum as well as organic shea butter, organic macadamia nut oil, organic evening primrose oil, organic rosehip oil and organic green tea extract.
These cosmetics because of their natural ingredients are suitable for everyone, even those with sensitive or hyper-allergenic skin. We carry a large range including face primers, foundation, mineral powder, concealer, blush, highlighter and bronzer. Eyeliner, eyeshadow, eyebrow pencil and mascara. Lip tint and gloss, lipstick and lipliner.
If you’re like me and seem to wear the same make up year in and out and wish you had a few more skills when it comes to applying makeup but are not really sure where to turn to, we now have the answer.
